Checking in…
A Day Down Under July 16th, 2007I’m still here! I haven’t written any updates, mainly as i have not really got anything to update on! Pretty boring for you really, but i like to have something somewhat interesting for people to read!
It is very hot and humid here in Athens, GA, so i guess i am getting lean from all the sweating that happens in that weather - sorry to the people back in Australia who are freezing in the middle of winter!
We have had no racing for some time now, i think by the time we get to the Tour de Toona next week, it will be five weeks of no racing for me! That’s not all that bad, it has just been plenty of time to train the house down, get the k’s in, and even relax a bit and do the tourist thing - something cyclists don’t get to do that often!
Last week Keally took me to the World of Coca Cola, which is in Atlanta. It was fairly cool, and you get to drink all the coke you can see when the tour is over. It was weird testing out the various coca cola products from all over the world - the European ones sucked, but the ones from South Africa rocked! I don’t know if anyone has ever tried drinking gallons of fizzy drink before, but i can tell you, the carbonated liquid really gives you a bloated feeling, and you can feel quite uncomfortable for a good few hours after!

World of Coca Cola is just next to Atlanta’s Centennial Olympic Park, so we took a walk through there afterwards. It was funny, because we raced by the side of it in the Tour de Georgia, and i don’t remember any of it! It is really nice, and has a cool waterfall thingy running by the side too:

All the spare time i have had lately has meant more time for me to get some didgeridoo practice in! I have been working on the circular breathing thing, but just cant get it down-pat yet, although i think i am getting close. I have the ‘drone’ thing figured, and can get a few sounds, so once i get the circular breathing thing happening, i think i will get some clapsticks, and then organise a corroboree for the end of the season!
The coolest thing is, i was looking in some shop the other day in Athens, and on the wall there was an advertisement for didgeridoo lessons, right here in Athens! Wicked! I am going to hit that up when i get back from my next races!

The other day while i was out practising my cycling, i saw this bike on the side of the road. I hope it didn’t have a rider on it at the time of the squashing. It looks like it is in a real mess though.

So that picture got me looking at things on the internet, and i came up with this clip here! I think this is what i want to do to people who make me crash sometimes! Seriously, you need to watch this clip, it is a pisser!!!!
Well anyway, happy birthday to Todd, Hiltz, my sister Lisa, and a huge congratulations to Leigh and Denae on the birth of their first child, Luke - all these birthdays were in the last week!
Have fun dudes!
