Sorry for the lack of updates!
// November 21st, 2008 // 5 Comments » // A Day Down Under
I have been flat out the last few weeks, and after 16 comments, realise i just had to find the time for an update! Luckily, today, as i sit here getting the post ready, it has been pouring rain all day, with hail here and there, and never more than 20 minutes of dry. Jonny and i have kitted up, got ready to meet, and then have it hail too many times, so the training day is done till tomorrow!
Things have been pretty hectic here, and i still don’t have a team for next year yet, despite what was published on CyclingNews a week or so back, so if you are a team manager or rider out there, and want me on your team, please email or call me! Check out the sixth article down or so, and there is even a picture of me there. This article was not correct, i DO NOT yet have a team for 2009! Seriously, if you may have a spot for me anywhere, please email me (huckfactor@hotmail.com), or call me!
So last weekend we went to the wedding of two good friends of ours, Hilton and Jamie. It was a great wedding, and so much fun was had by everyone. Hilton even gave the speeches with his tie around his head instead of his neck! We had such a great time, and it was great to see nearly every person who attended the wedding up on the dance floor at the end of the night!
We only have a few pictures for the time being, from the night, but here are a couple of good ones. Hiltz and Jamie, and all the wedding party up on the deck where they were married. Everyone looked great!

Keally and I also got a photo with the newly married couple later in the night, so you can see what we wore. Check out the suspenders i was kicking! Wicked! I had a hat too, but it didn’t make it to this photo!

If i get onto some extra photos from the wedding, i can post more in the next week. That is if i get my arse into gear and do another post next week! I should be good from now on, but it is just a bit of a stressful time still searching for a team for now, and blog posting isn’t on the top of my list just now!
Another cool thing we have been to see recently, was the WrestleRock II at the Hi-Fi Bar in Melbourne. The night was probably more publicised by the fact that “Dicko” from Vega 91.5, and Australian Idol, was wrestling, but should already be well publicised by the fact my good friend Chris Knight, is one of Australia’s best professional wrestlers. It was a night of good entertainment, but unfortunately Chris was dogged by his so-called-friends, and was robbed of regaining his title!
Here is “Dicko” strutting his stuff when he first stepped into the ring. He was actually really good, and put on a good show too. He ended up getting beaten from memory, but he seemed to have the better of the fight, until his support guy threw powder in his face by mistake!

Here is Chris in action during the fight, about to throw a big punch into his opponent…

… And here he is doing a Suplex on his opponent. I know a lot of people think wrestling is fake, but there is no way these guys aren’t getting hurt out there! They get slammed into the ground so hard, and the thing that looks the worst is when they get thrown out of the ring, and it doesn’t make any noise when they hit the ground!

Chris Knight is definitely the best wrestler going around in Australia, and definitely provides the best entertainment…
I have been doing a bit of work here and there, and one of the things i have done is working for Cycad. It is a cool thing to do, because you get to ride around on bicycles, and get paid for it! The catch is, you need to tow a trailer along behind you. One of the cool things with the gig is, you get to check out all the touristy sights of Melbourne, that you wouldn’t otherwise go to see.
Here we are cruising along Southbank, on the Yarra River in Melbourne.

Here is a group of rowers that were paddling down the river doing some early morning training. It looked pretty cool to see all of them evenly spaced, and uniform, in front of all the buildings i thought!

I got a lot of cool photos, and after seeing how great Melbourne really is, i decided i needed to go back at night and get another picture of Southbank. This time i took the photo from the bridge near Federation Square (which is also quite amazing), looking down along Southbank, and i reckon it made for a pretty good photo. What do you reckon?!

Here is another interesting photo. Have you ever wondered what a baby seagull looks like? Here you go:

We went to Phillip Island, to see the penguins, but all we really got to see was a seagull invasion! We did see some penguins there, and even got to see some trying for a baby on the path on the way out, but the night was almost overshadowed by the ridiculous amount of seagulls. The things are everywhere, and quite annoying, they would fly so close to you! Also, at The Nobbies the next day, where all the baby ones were seen, they were just everywhere!
So anyway, there is a bit of an update of my happenings, and that should get me back into the mood for blog postings now. I must apologise for the delay, but we are back on track now. I have already decided that i am going to do a post during the week to put up some pictures from the Melbourne Cup (which is old news now), and more wedding pictures…
Also, please keep me in mind if you hear of any spots on any teams for me! I am still in need of a team to race for in 2009!
The chocolate “M&M’s” stands for the last names of Forrest E. Mars Sr., the candy maker, and his associate Bruce Murrie. How about that, it is something i have always wondered!
